Hybrid lashes are a lash set that mixes two techniques on one eye: classic single extensions for structure and a defined lash line, and volume fans for softness and density. The result sits between classic and volume — fuller than a classic set, lighter and more textured than a full volume set.

Every tray on this page is stocked for that job. The classic side gives you 0.10 mm and 0.15 mm singles plus ellipse flat lashes for a darker base; the fan side gives you 0.03 mm to 0.07 mm easy fan trays, camellia easy fans and premade fans; the texture pass gives you wet look spikes and 5D flower lashes. Curls run C to M, lengths from an 8–15 mm mix up to 25 mm on the long camellia trays, in black, brown and two-tone ombré.

What are hybrid lashes?

Hybrid lash extensions combine classic 1:1 application with volume fans in the same set. Most artists work a ratio — 50/50, 60/40 or 70/30 — placing single extensions through the inner and outer corners and fans through the centre of the eye, or alternating them lash by lash for a more broken-up texture.

Because the technique is a mix rather than a single fibre, hybrid sets are the most flexible option in the salon: you can push them lighter for a natural finish or heavier for a full one using the same two trays.

Classic vs hybrid vs volume

Set Technique Fibre Finish
Classic One extension per natural lash 0.10 – 0.20 mm singles Defined, clean lash line, light density
Hybrid Singles plus 2D–5D fans mixed 0.10 – 0.15 mm singles + 0.03 – 0.07 mm fans Textured, wispy, mid-density
Volume Fans on every natural lash 0.03 – 0.07 mm fans Dense and soft, full coverage

If you want the fullest possible set with a soft edge, fans alone do that. If you want definition with visible individual lashes, that is classic. Hybrid is the middle: the singles keep the structure readable, the fans fill the gaps.

How to build a hybrid set

A workable standard build:

  • Inner corner and first third — 0.10 mm classic singles, 8–10 mm, one per lash. Keeps the inner corner light and avoids weight on finer natural lashes.
  • Centre — 3D to 5D easy fan or premade fans, 0.05–0.07 mm, 11–13 mm. This is where the density reads.
  • Outer corner — 0.15 mm singles or ellipse flat lashes for the flick, 12–14 mm. Flat lashes give a darker, more graphic edge than round fibre.
  • Texture pass — 2–4 closed spikes or a 5D flower lash, set 1–2 mm longer than the fans around them. Place them at the same length and the set reads uniform; go longer and it reads wispy. This is the step the wet look and 5D flower trays are made for.

Classic side: which tray to pick

Fan side: easy fan, camellia or premade

  • 0.07 mm Glam Black easy fan — the standard hybrid fan diameter. Fast to pinch, holds a 3D–5D fan without collapsing.
  • 0.05 mm easy fan — for lighter hybrid sets and finer natural lashes.
  • 0.03 mm easy fan — mega hybrid, 6D and up. Experienced hands only.
  • Camellia easy fans, 0.05 and 0.07 mm — cup-shaped base that opens into a wider, softer fan than a flat easy fan tray. C and D curl, and the only hybrid trays here that also come in 14–22 mm and 18–25 mm mixes when a client asks for length past 15 mm.
  • Premade fans — Comic Elf, Fairy and Spire. No pinching, so a hybrid set that would take 2.5 hours drops closer to 1.5.

Texture pass: wet look spikes and 5D flower

The texture pass is what makes a set read as hybrid instead of straight classic. Two product families do that job, and both are on this page:

  • Wet look spikes — closed spike trays in 0.07 mm, C and D curl, sold as an 8–15 mm mix with 8–13 mm single lengths on the plain tray. Black and brown for everyday work, plus twelve two-tone ombré versions (blue–pink, aqua–black, black–red, white–pink and others) for clients who want the colour to show only when the light hits it.
  • 5D flower lashes — two shapes. Flower spike trays in C and D curl with 8–13 mm single lengths, and layered 5D flower extensions in LC and LD curl, 0.07 mm, 8–15 mm mix. The spike trays stand upright and give the set a defined top edge; the layered trays are the ones to use on clients who already wear LC or LD curl.

Keep the spikes to 2–4 per eye and place them in the top layer. That is enough to break the lash line without turning the set into a full spiky look, which is its own style and a different tray list.

Choosing curl for a hybrid set

C and D curls cover most of the trays here — C for a natural lift, D when the client wants the curl to read in photos. The 0.10 mm and 0.15 mm singles also come in CC and DD for clients with downward-growing natural lashes; the extra lift keeps the hybrid mix from looking flat.

For a lifted outer corner, use L, L+ or M curl through the last third only. Mixing an L curl into the outer corner against a C curl through the centre is the fastest way to get the elongated shape that reads as a hybrid rather than a straight set. If you are working the layered 5D flower trays, match them to LC or LD curl — they lift at the base and stay straight through the tip.

If you are building the wispy version of this set, wispy and spike lashes sit alongside these trays; if you want fans on every lash, go to volume lashes. For the technique on its own, classic lashes.

Hybrid lash supplies

Hybrid sets use more adhesive than classic work because fans hold more surface area at the base. A low-viscosity lash glue with a 0.5–1 second set keeps the fans from sliding, and volume tweezers with a narrow tip are the difference between a 4D fan that opens and one that closes.

All trays ship from stock in 8–15 mm mixes, with 8–16 mm single-length trays on the 0.10 mm, 0.15 mm, 0.20 mm and 5D flower ranges.
