Volume lash extensions are ultra-fine extensions applied in fans — two to eight fibres on one natural lash instead of the single fibre used in a classic set. Because each fibre is thinner, a whole fan weighs roughly the same as one classic extension while covering far more of the lash line. That is what makes the set look fuller without overloading the natural lash.
This page collects all 40 volume trays we stock, grouped by how you make the fan. The 0.03 mm trays and 0.05 mm trays are built for wide 4D–10D fans and mega volume; 0.07 mm covers 2D–4D and lighter work. Pre-shaped Y and W, YY and WW, U-shape and narrow W trays skip fan-making altogether. Curls run C, CC, D, DD and LU; lengths from 8 mm singles up to 8–15 mm, 14–22 mm and 18–25 mm mixes, in black, brown and ombré.
What are volume lash extensions?
A volume set attaches a fan of two to eight fine extensions to one isolated natural lash. The fibres run 0.03 mm to 0.07 mm thick — roughly a third to a half the thickness of a classic extension — so four or five of them together still weigh less than a single 0.15 mm classic. The extra fibres are what fill gaps and build the dark, dense lash line that a classic set cannot reach.
The technique is normally described by how many fibres sit in each fan: 2D and 3D for light volume, 4D to 6D for a standard full set, and 6D upward for mega volume. What you can safely use depends on the health of the client's natural lashes and on your diameter — a 0.03 mm fibre carries a much wider fan than a 0.07 mm one.
Volume vs classic vs hybrid: which set is which
The three names describe three attachment methods, not three grades of quality:
-
Classic — one extension per natural lash, 0.10 mm to 0.20 mm. Clean and defined, but limited by how many natural lashes the client actually has. See classic lash extensions.
-
Volume — a fan of two to eight fine fibres per natural lash, 0.03 mm to 0.07 mm. Fuller and softer, and usually the better answer when natural lashes are sparse. That is this page.
-
Hybrid — classic singles and volume fans mixed on the same eye: structure from the singles, density from the fans. See hybrid lash extensions.
One practical rule for the salon: clients with dense, healthy natural lashes can take any of the three. Clients with fine or sparse lashes usually get a better result from volume or hybrid, because the fans cover gaps that a classic set leaves visible.
Choosing your diameter: 0.03, 0.05 or 0.07 mm
Diameter is the decision that determines everything else about the set. Thinner fibres allow wider fans and a softer finish; thicker fibres hold their curl better and read darker along the lash line.

All three diameters are stocked in C and D curl. The Silk Volume and Platinum trays go further, adding CC and DD for clients who want a tighter or more lifted curl than the standard options.
If you are stocking a single diameter to begin with, 0.05 mm covers the widest range of clients. Add 0.03 mm once mega volume requests become regular, and 0.07 mm if you plan to build wispy sets on top of a classic base.
Three ways to make a fan: silk volume, easy fan or camellia
Every volume tray here fits one of three working styles, and most artists keep one of each:
-
Silk Volume trays (0.03 / 0.05 / 0.07 mm, C–DD) are the standard handmade option. You pick up the fibre and spread it by hand, which gives full control over fan width but takes practice to get consistent. The matte finish reads softer under salon lighting than a high-shine fibre, which is what most clients asking for a "natural but full" set actually want.
-
Easy fan trays in Glam Black (0.03 / 0.05 / 0.07 mm) use a lightly bonded base, so the fibres fan out the moment the tweezers close. Same finished look, far less practice. Worth stocking if you are training new artists or want to shorten a full-set appointment.
-
Camellia easy fan trays (0.05 / 0.07 mm) have fibres of uneven length within a single fan. That is what produces the layered, spiky outline without running a separate texture pass. Available in 8–15 mm, 14–22 mm and 18–25 mm mixes for clients who want visible length variation.
A fourth route is premade lash fans, which arrive already shaped — you pick up, dip and place. They are the fastest way to a full set and pair well with these trays for express services.
Pre-shaped trays: Y, W, YY, WW and U-shape
If you would rather not make fans at all, the pre-shaped trays do that work at the factory. Each unit in the tray is bonded into a fixed shape, so you pick up a ready fan, dip and place:
-
Y and W shape — Y gives a narrow, defined two- or three-fibre fan; W spreads wider for more coverage. Both are 0.07 mm.
-
YY and WW — two Y or W units bonded together, roughly doubling the fibre count per fan. Suits clients who want density without committing to full mega volume.
-
U-shape — comes in YY, 3DW, 4DW and 5DW, from a narrow two-fibre spike up to a five-fibre wide fan.
-
Narrow W — a tighter W footprint for filling small gaps along the lash line.
These are the trays to reach for when a client wants texture. The spikes sit higher than a standard round fan and give the set an uneven, airy outline rather than a solid block — which is also why they photograph better than closed fans.
Mega volume and 16-row trays
Mega volume is not a separate technique, just a wider fan: 6D and above, usually built on 0.03 mm. Because each fibre is so light, you can go to 10D or more on a healthy natural lash and stay within a safe load — the set looks dramatically fuller while weighing about the same as a classic set.
The trade-off is consumption. Mega volume sets use several times more fibre per eye than a classic set, so trays empty faster. That is what the Platinum 16 Rows trays are for: the same 0.03 mm and 0.05 mm fibre in a 16-row tray instead of the standard 12, in C, CC, D and DD. If mega volume is more than an occasional request, these are the ones to buy.
On sizing: 0.03 mm is the safe default for mega volume, and 0.05 mm works up to about 6D on strong natural lashes. Going thicker than that in a wide fan is what causes premature shedding and twisting at the base.
Building a wispy volume set
Wispy volume is a texture, not a diameter. The set is built dense and closed, then broken up with longer spikes placed at intervals so the outline becomes uneven. The contrast between the full base and the taller spikes is what reads as wispy.
Two ways to get there with what is on this page. The first is to build the base with 0.05 mm or 0.07 mm round fans and add spikes separately from the spike lash trays. The second is to use camellia or 5D flower trays, where uneven fibre lengths are already built into each fan — faster, and the result is more repeatable between artists.
For a similar broken-up effect with a wetter, more separated finish, the wet look lash trays are the other route. Those are the ones to show clients who describe the result as "mascara" rather than "fluffy".
Curl, length, colour and wholesale
Curl
C and D cover the majority of salon work: C for a natural lift, D for clients who want a more open eye. Silk Volume and Platinum trays add CC and DD for stronger lift, and four LU curl trays in brown suit clients with straight, downward-growing lashes where standard curls lose their lift within a week.
Length
Single sizes from 8 mm to 16 mm are stocked for detailed mapping; mixes are stocked for speed — 8–15 mm is the standard full-set mix, while 14–22 mm and 18–25 mm suit clients who want visible length at the outer corner. Mixed trays suit stylists working quickly who would rather not load six single-size trays per appointment.
Colour
Black is the default across the range. Brown trays cover clients with light or red hair who find black too severe, and the coloured range covers clients who want a visible tint.
Supplies and wholesale
A volume set is only as good as the bond holding it. Pair these trays with lash extension glue matched to your room humidity and working speed, plus volume tweezers with a fine enough tip to pick up a 0.03 mm fan without collapsing it. Prep and finishing products sit in lash accessories.
Wholesale orders start at 10 trays per size, and sizes can be mixed across a single order. OEM packaging and free design work are available on all trays. Samples are free — two trays per product — and the sample cost is deducted from your first order. Samples ship within 24 hours; bulk orders ship within seven days, from Qingdao.
