How Lash Artists Build a Wispy Set

A classic wispy map alternates two elements: a base of soft fans (usually 2–3 mm shorter) and spikes placed at measured intervals along the lash line, longest at the peak points of the map. Work in layers — spikes on the top layer so they stay visible, fans underneath for density. Keep spike lengths 2–3 mm longer than the fan base for that signature staggered outline, and mirror the map on both eyes before you start filling. For a strip-lash effect, concentrate the longest spikes at the center and outer third; for a cat-eye wispy, push the peaks toward the outer corner.
